Government workers will receive a three-day holiday to mark National Day this year, state news agency WAM has announced.
National Day itself, Tuesday December 2 will be a holiday, as will Wednesday December 3 and Thursday December 4, meaning workers will have five days off in total including the weekend.
The holiday has been announced under the directive of the President, Sheikh Khalifa.
Work will resume on Sunday December 7.
No announcement has been made yet on private sector National Day holidays.
