The Ministry of Education’s Arabic-focused National Reading Campaign, which was launched at the beginning of last month, will continue this Thursday, September 3, 2015.
The launch of this new initiative is in line with the Ministry’s goal of promoting the use of Arabic among students, allowing them to have a deeper appreciation for the language and improving their literacy skills in Arabic.
The campaign, which is ran in schools across the UAE features events, competitions and story time. Events include reading contests and workshops, which are aimed at improving students’ vocabulary and use of their native language, Arabic.
Another highlight of the campaign is the Donate A Book drive to assist children in Syria. Volunteer groups such as the Nation’s Pride Volunteers Union and the Red Crescent Society will assist in organising some of the events.
