The third STEM MENA Conference and Awards successfully took place on October 28, 2023, at the Copthorne Lakeview Hotel in Dubai Investment Park, drawing a crowd of over 300 delegates from the GCC and beyond. The event offered an array of activities, including insightful keynotes, interactive workshops, and exhibitions showcasing the latest in STEM technologies and student projects. Students enthusiastically displayed their Explorelearning Gizmos projects.

Ayesha Farhan from the School of Humanity set the tone for the day, encouraging educators to embrace a multidisciplinary approach to STEM education that tackles real-world challenges. Following her lead, Martin Barraclough and Benjamin Atkins made compelling cases for including arts in the STEM curriculum, advocating for a more inclusive STEAM approach.

The conference was also an opportunity for students to demonstrate their achievements, notably the GEMS Winchester School Dubai students who displayed their prize-winning electric vehicles. These exhibits not only highlighted the practical applications of STEM education but also the innovative spirit of the students.

The workshops run by educators from across the Middle East were a standout feature, offering hands-on experience and the opportunity for delegates to engage directly with new educational tools and methodologies.

The day concluded with the eagerly anticipated STEM MENA Awards, celebrating the exceptional contributions to STEM education in the region. As the conference ended, attendees were already expressing enthusiasm for the next event, scheduled for November 9, 2024, in Dubai.
