Grants from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed aim to boost excellence in fields of business, quality, health and environment in line with UAE Vision 2021

Hamdan Bin Mohammed Smart University (HBMSU) has announced that 20 scholarships will be awarded to outstanding high school learners as grants from H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and President of HBMSU. Bestowed for the third year in a row now, the scholarships aim to help learners in their quest towards scientific and academic excellence and enable them to contribute effectively to the UAE’s overall development. The H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship Programme provides outstanding learners the opportunity to enroll at HBMSU’s e-School of Business and Quality Management and e-School of Health and Environmental Studies. Both schools follow the highest standards of innovation and incorporate the latest smart technologies to meet the aspirations of Arab learners.

H.E. Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chairman of Dubai Police and General Security and Chairman of HBMSU Board of Governors, commended the awarding of scholarships, emphasising that these grants are the cornerstone of the recipients’ academic and professional excellence. The move falls in line with the strategic objectives of UAE Vision 2021 aimed at equipping the new generation with the necessary knowledge and innovative skills to create a highly competitive and sustainable economy.

“We are committed to consolidating the culture of innovation, excellence and optimal investment in our human capital as an important component of our overall development. This urges us to support outstanding learners and enable them to continue their academic studies at HBMSU, the first university in the Arab World to promote smart learning and the best model for re-shaping the future of education based on innovation, creativity, excellence and quality,” H.E. Lieutenant General Tamim said.

The H.H. Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship Programme will accept applications immediately after the release of the 2014-2015 high school grade results. Awardees will be selected based on the set criteria, including academic excellence, final grades and compliance with the admission requirements of the academic programmes.
