Students registered in the Abu Dhabi Talents Development Programme started their training in eight different fields related to arts, under the sponsorship of the Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (ADEK) and the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi (DCT Abu Dhabi).
Various training plans have been tailored to meet the needs and capabilities of each student in order to develop their talents, enable them to compete on national and global levels and contribute to Abu Dhabi’s cultural scene.
Students will receive their training in different locations in Abu Dhabi, the Al Ain Region and the Al Dhafrah Region, under the supervision of professional trainers.
The training will cover areas related to arts including: painting, photography, graphic design, music, ballet, folklore and drama.
Dr. Mona Al Ameri, ADEK’s Special Education Division Manager and the Project Manager, said, “It is our pleasure to be part of this national programme as art conveys a universal cultural message. It aims to enhance the capabilities of our national manpower in order to meet job market needs and to ensure students are capable of meeting future challenges.”
“The Talents Development Program in visual and performance arts supports Abu Dhabi’s vision which aims to identify talented students, while providing them with the opportunity to develop their talents and artistic skills. These training interactive sessions will promote creativity among students.” She continued.
Lubna Al Teneiji, K-12 Outreach Manager, DCT Abu Dhabi, said: “We are committed to developing the cultural landscape in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and providing an environment conducive to the growth and development of young talents under specialised supervision, through establishing collaborations such as this one. Working with the Department of Education and Knowledge supports our efforts to enhance the technical capabilities of students, and consequently to encourage them to join advanced technical programmes and practices.”
The Talents Development Programme is one of ADEK’s top priorities as it highlights the national efforts made to develop a student’s talent based on best international practices and approaches. It also reflects ADEK’s keenness to support creative and distinguished initiatives, improve young talented students and harness their full potential in order for them to represent the UAE regionally and internationally.
This programme comes as part of Abu Dhabi’s vision to promote the Emirate as a cultural hub at regional and international levels, where talented students are supported to explore their capabilities and contribute in shaping the future of the country, while preserving the Emirati identity and culture.
