Dubai schools are finding new ways to improve language learning

The online program from Neuron Learning helps schools accelerate English language learning and reduce learning intervention referrals

Research shows that children who are not proficient in English on grade level by the end of third grade are likely to have trouble learning in all classroom subjects in higher grades. To help students build and strengthen their English language reading skills and the foundational cognitive skills they need to succeed, a rapidly growing number of Dubai schools are implementing the Fast ForWord® program from Neuron Learning Ltd.

Neuron Learning will be outlining the latest research on English Language teaching effectiveness in the Middle East at the upcoming IPSEF conference on 29 September – 1 October at the Dubai Knowledge Village Auditorium. The presentation will cover the use of technology, neuroscience and good teaching. The content will include how to engage students and accelerate results as well as addressing specific challenges for learners in the Arab world.

Neuron Learning’s programs include Fast ForWord and Reading Assistant®. Fast ForWord uses the principles of neuroplasticity — the ability of the brain to rewire and improve — to target the root causes of slow academic progress in struggling students and English language learners. After Fast ForWord, students can improve their language and reading skills by up to two grade levels in as little as three months, simultaneously boosting performance across all areas of study.

IPSEF Dubai provides a unique opportunity for anyone involved in private and international schools to hear fascinating case studies from new schools, as well as key issues such as teacher recruitment, school design, curriculum choices, raising finance, and the regulatory framework that exists in Dubai, and what makes it a growing regional education hub.
