ADEC receives delegation from the Education Evaluation Commission
His Excellency Engineer Hamad Al-Dhaheri, Executive Director of Private Schools & Quality Assurance Sector at the Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC), received a delegation headed by H.E. Dr. Khaled Abdullah Al-Sabti, Head of the Education Evaluation Commission in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The main aim of the visit was to introduce educational plans and policies applied by ADEC to the Saudi delegation.
Present in the meeting were Dr. Sarah Al-Suwaidi, Acting Curriculum Division Manager, Dr. Qasim Alshannag, Assessment Division Manager, and Ms. Amal Al-Tamimi, P-12 Policies Section Manager.
Mr. Al-Dhaheri said that ADEC strategies aim to develop a knowledge-based economy through providing students in Abu Dhabi with high quality education while maintaining the UAE national identity and culture. “ADEC’s vision aims to offer a world-class education system that supports all students reach their full potential in order to be capable of competing in the global labor market,” Al-Dhaheri added.
During the meeting, an overview of the P-12 policies, key practices in assessment and examinations, as well as standards and professional licensing schemes applied by ADEC, were presented.
The delegation was briefed on the pilot phase of the “Ada’e” Program, which is applied by ADEC in selected schools to assess and develop school performance, teaching & administrative staff licensing procedures and ADEC professional standards to assess and improve an educators’ performance.
Both parties shared ideas and expertise related to best pedagogies, means of developing the education system and enhancing professional competencies.
