The Abu Dhabi Education Council (ADEC) celebrated the UAE’s 43rd National Day in the presence of H.E Dr. Amal Al-Qubaisi, ADEC’s Director General.
The joyful celebrations included various folklore performances by public and private school students from Abu Dhabi, tents that presented school products, traditional crafts and handicrafts.
The event began with the national anthem, followed by the “Al-Ittihad” operetta, Yola dance, a folklore song that reflects the past and present of the UAE, “Emarati” operetta and a traditional performance by students representing henna.

During the event, heritage paintings were exhibited, UAE flags and other national items and souvenirs were distributed while local and traditional food was served and henna designs applied.
All Abu Dhabi public and private schools have celebrated the 43rd national day from November 23rd through to December 1st by organizing various events and activities. This comes in line with ADEC’s keenness to foster student knowledge and appreciation of their national identity, culture and heritage as a key component of ADEC’s strategies and initiatives. Various activities that exhibit national culture and heritage have been organized to mark the national day and to help inform expat students, teachers and staff about the past, present and future of the UAE.

Following the ceremony, Her Excellency Dr. Al-Qubaisi, praised the activities presented by students and thanked parents who were involved in the national day activities.
ADEC staff commended the celebrations, which have been a wonderful opportunity for non-national staff members to know more about the history and traditions of UAE.
