On February 10, 2016, HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, announced the members of the new cabinet. Among the newly appointed members is Her Excellency Jameela Salem Al Muhairi.

Her Excellency Jameela Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education expressed her gratitude and thanked the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Her Excellency Jameela Salem Al Muhairi, Minister of State for Public Education, said, “The trust placed by UAE’s wise leadership informing the new cabinet will inspire me to exert greater efforts in serving this country. Together, we will build on the development goals highlighted in the national agenda while ensuring the happiness of our students.”

Jameela has over 20 years in the field of education. She has served various roles covering a wide range of advisory and administrative positions. Most recently, she served as the head of Dubai School Inspection Bureau at Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) where she has been responsible for assuring and raising the quality and standards in Dubai’s private schools.

Jameela has also served as the Executive Director of Dubai Knowledge Village from 2004 to 2008, following which she served as Executive Director in charge of the private education sector in Dubai Education Council. Earlier, she had served as deputy director of the Special Education Department at the UAE Ministry of Education from 1995 to 2004.

She is a graduate of management from UAE University in Al Ain.
